Civic Initiatives from Serbia held the presentation of the Monitoring Matrix on Enabling Environment for CSDev to members of the Federation of Non-governmental Organizations of Serbia (FENS) on 25 March. The second EYCA Working Groups’ meeting was held in Brussels on the 5th March. Mrs Antonella Valmorbida (ALDA) and Diogo Pinto (EMI) co-chaired the Working Group I on Participatory Citizenship and Civil Dialogue. During the session participants were involved in a creative laboratory to identify solutions to tackle the obstacles to participation and civil dialogue identified by the WG1 during its first meeting. The objective of WG1 is to identify and formulate shared recommendations aimed at strengthening the involvement of European citizens in EU policy-making and engage them on a comprehensive civil dialogue. On the 12 March in Tirana the Institute for Democracy and Mediation and Partners Albania in partnership with the Balkan Civil Society Development Network organized the kick off event of the project “Balkan Civil Society Acquis – Strengthening the Advocacy and Monitoring Potential and Capacities of CSOs”. On the 11 March, KCSF officially launched the new resource center for civil society development in Prishtina together with the presentation of the monitoring Matrix on enabling environment for CSDev and the BCSDN Mid-term strategy activities supported under the IPA Balkan Civil Society Acquis project. The Norwegian Embassy in Kosovo supported the establishment and running of a Centre for civil society development, called KCSF Centre. This centre, which will be open to public, will provide information, know-how, trainings and coaching on 5 main fields: 1) legislation on civil society; 2) internal governance for CSOs; 3) citizen participation; 4) CSO participation…

In most cases, these were funding and human intensive, partial (dealt with only one or several sub-areas) and general in their coverage of monitoring of the enabling environment for CSDev.
