Civic Initiatives from Serbia held the presentation of the Monitoring Matrix on Enabling Environment for CSDev to members of the Federation of Non-governmental Organizations of Serbia (FENS) on 25 March. The presentation of the Matrix was performed as one of the key sessions of the FENS strategic meeting, which focused on the empowerment and reconstruction of FENS and the development of the network’s main documents – Statute, Values and Principles Charter of FENS and its Work regulations. The Matrix was presented byMarija Dimitrijevic Miskovic from the Civic Initiatives and Tanja Hafner Ademi from the Balkan Civil Society Development Network.
About 30 FENS members from across Serbia attending the meeting all agreed that the Matrix is a comprehensive and significant tool that can be used to better define the priority areas, future steps and advocacy activities of FENS. FENS members also confirmed that the monitoring of the enabling environment for CSDev will be useful to address overall CSDev in Serbia and that taking part in various focus groups, research activities, and questionnaires as part of the monitoring process, should be regarded as priorities of FENS.
The presentation of the Matrix on Enabling Environment for CSDev is supported under the IPA Balkan Civil Society Acquis project. National kick-off events will be hosted by BCSDN members in all IPA countries throughout March and April and will be wrapped up with the Annual Council Meeting gathering in Istanbul, Turkey end of April.
