The Institute for Democracy and Mediation (IDM) has been contracted by the “Millennium Challenge Corporation” (MCC – US Government agency) through Social Impact Inc.to assist the evaluation of Stage II of Albania Threshold Program (ATP) in relation to ATP assistance for urban planning reform and strengthening civil society in its anticorruption advocacy efforts. The grantees of the Slovak Balkan Public Policy Fund, implemented by Pontis Foundation and BCSDN and financially supported by SlovakAid, by the end of June should finalise the researches and present the findings in form of a policy papers. On 27th April, the network gathered for its Annual Council meeting in Split, Croatia. The highlight was the discussion and adoption of the Mid-term Strategy Plan 2012-2014, which was based on a year-long process or discussion and preparation. After more than a decade of capacity-building and advocacy work, the Mid-term Strategy Plan includes re-defined mission, and 4 mid-term goals. This strategy was also the basis of BCSDN application for the EC Partnership Programme grants. On June 5, 2012, Partners Albania, Center for Change and Conflict Management organized a regional conference on the Development of Corporate Social Responsibility-Challenges and Practices in the Region. The conference brought together nearly 120 representatives from the business sector, government institutions, donor agencies, the non-for-profit sector, and media from Albania, Montenegro, and Macedonia. ALDA, the Association of Local Democracy Agencies is a CSO dedicated to the promotion of good governance and citizen participation at the local level.
