BCSDN is proud to present the donor maps developed as part of a research on the donors strategies and practices in civil society development (CSDev) conducted in 2011. This research aim was to identify main donors, trends and ways of support to civil society in the Balkans. As a part of this research, a database of donor maps was created by Queen Mary University of London and BCSDN. These maps present a dissection of civil society support in 6 countries per donors and sector of support in the period 2010-2011 as reported by donor representatives interviewed or discerned from official information on their websites. MCIC celebrated 18 years since it was funded. The organization is one of the oldest and biggest civil society organizations in independent Macedonia, and its achievements can be measured in number of ways. In the 18 years, the organization has implemented 1544 projects, with total budget of 48.5 million Euros. The biggest part of the funds has been used for basic and emergency help (31%), while most of projects have been for civil society and democracy (36%). Between 12th-14th December, a regional conference was organized by the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) and TACSO on the topic of “Regional CSOs Networks in IPA Countries” in Sarajevo. The aim of the conference was to contribute to the capacity building of the regional CSO networks and to the structured participation of regional CSO networks in the EU accession process. Tanja Hafner Ademi, the Executive Director of BCSDN was a guest speaker at the RCC & TACSO “Regional CSOs Networks in IPA Countries” on the topic of “Regional Networks’ Best Practices and Challenges”. BCSDN had the opportunity to participate at two events that marked the European Volunteering Day in Macedonia. The first one was organized by the Macedonian Agency for European Educational Programmes and Mobility that held an Open Day for European Voluntery Service and the second was an open floor discussion jointly organized by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the Youth Association creACTive. On 6th and 7th December, the EC organized a P2P event on the topic: “Functioning system(s) for involving civil society in the policy development and decision-making process” in Skopje, Macedonia.
