BCSDN’s members Civic Initiatives (CI) and Center for Promotion of Civil Society (CPCD) have been actively engaged in helping people from Serbia and Bosnia & Herzegovina who are struggling with heavy floods causing enormous damage across the countries for several days already. CI established a crisis unit in Belgrade that will be on disposal to all civil society organisations for activities aimed to provide aid to the endangered Serbian citizens. One year after the launch of a wide consultation process on the new EC instrument to direct its policy and financial support to civil society in Enlargement countries for the period 2014-2020 – Guidelines for EU Support to Civil Society in Enlargement Countries – TACSO, in cooperation with DG Enlargement, organized a 4-day conference in Tirana, Albania, between the 6th and 9th of May, to promote and set country-specific targets to be reached by 2020. On 16th April, BCSDN members and partners discussed future regional and national avenues of advocacy and exchange on the basis of the 8 Country Monitoring Matrix Reports. On 23 April, Government Office for Cooperation with CSOs from Croatia and Konrad Adenauer Stiftung organized a regional conference “Government-Civil Society Partnership for Open and Transparent Law-making in Countries of SEE”, which gathered both representatives of CSOs (including BCSDN members and the Executive Director) and Government institutions to discuss how to measure and induce progress in the area.
