In a joint statement, they argue that the current model marginalises local leadership, prioritises donor agendas, and fails to meet community needs. The impact is already severe: trusted grassroots organisations are being forced to cut back or shut down critical work due to lack of funding. Decades-long partnerships are being abruptly ended, leaving local actors to carry the burden of a system not built with them in mind.
