On 4th August, our member organization, Partners Albania, published their Annual Report for 2015. This year, Partners Albania will celebrate 15 years of work. Partners Albania mission is to support civil society and facilitate inter-sector cooperation in order to strengthen democratic institutions and advance economic development. On July 27th 2016, the Managing Board of our member organization Macedonian Center for International Cooperation (MCIC), chose its new Board of directors. Gonce Jakovleska was elected as MCIC new CEO with a mandate until 2021, while Aleksandar Krzhalovski was elected as the first Executive Director. Last year, the world adopted the Sustainable Development Goals and embraced a shared aspiration: A world without poverty and with opportunity and dignity for all by 2030. This year, in July, government ministers, UN leaders, experts and academics, civil society representatives, and business leaders have gathered today at the UN through the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development to assess where we are on the Sustainable Development Goals and share lessons and ideas on how to make progress on them. The Western Balkans Risk Analysis Network (WB-RAN) performs monthly exchanges of statistical data and information on the most recent irregular migration developments affecting the region. This information is compiled at Frontex Risk Analysis Unit (RAU) level and analyzed in cooperation with the regional partners on a quarterly and annual basis. The annual reports offer a more in-depth analysis of the developments and phenomena, which affect the regional and common borders, while the quarterly reports are meant to provide regular updates and identify emerging trends in order to maintain situational awareness. CPDE is now calling for applications for CSO participation in the Second High Level Meeting (HLM2) of the Global Partnership for Effective Development Cooperation (GPEDC) to be held in Nairobi, Kenya from November 28 to December 1, 2016. The annual Global Perspectives conference brings together CEOs from key national and leading international civil society organizations (CSOs) with high-level representatives from politics, the corporate sector and academia. The conference provides a platform for up to 150 participants to address some of the world’s most pressing challenges. In a highly interactive format, participants propose topics and workshops based on their experience and devise common strategies to deal with opportunities, challenges and trends, which are affecting CSOs. United States Agency for International Development (USAID) presented the 18th edition of their Civil Society Organization (CSO) Sustainability Index focused on Central and Eastern Europe and Eurasia. On July 21st, 2016, at the EU Info Center Skopje, Macedonia, the Embassy of Poland in Macedonia organized an informative session about funding opportunities for regional cooperation projects in the Western Balkans.
