The Global Standard for CSO Accountability has been created by nine CSO accountability initiatives from across the world including the Balkan Civil Society Development Network. In times of changing role of civil society, active pressure and shrinking civic space, civil society actors need to ensure they retain their core missions, integrity, purposefulness and high levels of trust. Creation of partnerships and strengthening the networking of civil society organizations is one of the priorities of the TACSO project. Therefore, in the period July 2015 – February 2016, the Macedonian TACSO office and the resource centre in Macedonia, the Macedonian Center for International Cooperation (MCIC) conducted comprehensive assessment of the needs of the Macedonian networks which should serve as a basis for the next steps for capacity building for networking and partnership. The CSO Effectiveness Awareness Check is an initiative by the Working Group on CSO Development Effectiveness (CSO DE WG) of the CSO Partnership for Development Effectiveness (CPDE) to help CSOs around the globe to check their progress in implementing the principles for CSO development effectiveness and accountability.
