The European Center for Not-for-Profit Law (ECNL) has published a new foresight paper by James Logan exploring the key trends and drivers that will shape the future of civil society. Developed as part of ECNL’s new strategy process, the paper reflects on two decades of change while looking ahead to the world of 2035. It asks what the “building blocks” of the future are, what issues organisations will need to address, and how they may need to transform internally to remain resilient and relevant. The foresight exercise comes at a time of heightened uncertainty and disruption, including major global shifts triggered by political developments such as the return of Donald Trump to the US presidency. ECNL notes that this context underscores the need for civil society to anticipate change and strengthen its capacity to respond to emerging challenges. Read more here.
