How the WGDP Came into Being? The idea for establishing of the Working Groups on special issues was launched at the Annual BCSDN Partnership Meeting in May 2004 held in Skopje, Macedonia with the aim to promote dialogue, exchange and cooperation between BCSDN members and other interested CSOs in areas of special interest to civil society. In three days, 9798 visitors had the opportunity to attend 66 forum events, such as panels, round tables, promotions, presentations and other socio-cultural events. These forums featured some of the most important discussions for development of civic society in Macedonia; i.e. the role of civil society in the EU integration process of Macedonia, decentralization, unemployment, national strategies, higher education, corruption, strategies for sustainability of CSO sector. In the exhibition part, visitors had the opportunity to see presentations from 244 organizations on 98 stands. Out of this, 16 CSOs from abroad and 4 international organizations presented themselves to the Macedonian public.…

In the study visit to EC Delegation in Skopje participants learned about management and procedures of accessible EU funds and asked questions to Mr. Nafi Sarachini, Civil Society Advisor in EC Delegation to Skopje and Ms. Jutta Bulling, Programme Manager on Civil Society and Social Cohesion in European Agency for Reconstruction-Operation Center Skopje. The first issue has been devoted to publishing presentations and recommendations delivered on the occasion of the Regional Workshop organized under the same title by Association of Protestant Development Organizations from Brussels, Belgium and Macedonian Centre for International Cooperation, from Skopje, Macedonia, which took place in Skopje, 22-23rd July 2004.
