The EU has started its 2021 Work Programme designed to make Europe healthier, fairer, and more prosperous. The programme has several entry points for philanthropy to mobilise and unleash its full potential. Amongst EU priorities are two elements relevant for European philanthropy: an economy that works for people and a new push for European democracy. Through these channels, the EU will establish better conditions for philanthropy to take a stronger role in collective change, especially in the face of current challenges like COVID-19.
