Short description: The European Commission invites stakeholders to provide feedback on the upcoming European Democracy Shield, a new initiative aimed at addressing the most serious risks to democracy in the EU. Building on the European Democracy Action Plan and the Defence of Democracy Package, the Shield will form part of the EU’s strategy to safeguard democratic values and institutions. Input gathered during this call for evidence will help refine the initiative before its adoption in the third quarter of 2025.
