Short Description: Heinrich Böll Foundation has launched the Global Majority AI Fellowship 2026 to support stronger participation of Global South civil society experts in international AI governance discussions. The fellowship will support participation in the first United Nations Global Dialogue on AI Governance, taking place in Geneva in July 2026, focusing on issues such as digital rights, AI governance, transparency, inequality, environmental justice, and human rights.
Target Group: Activists, researchers, technologists, students, civil society representatives, and policy practitioners working on AI governance, digital rights, data justice, environmental justice, and related fields from ODA-eligible countries.
Countries: Open to applicants from Global South / ODA-eligible countries.
Location: Geneva
Duration: 6–7 July 2026 (with additional preparatory and follow-up activities possible)
Deadline for applications: Rolling applications ahead of the July 2026 UN Global Dialogue session.
