For the 11th time, BCSDN Western Balkans members are conducting an annual survey to evaluate the state of civil society enabling environment in the region. The aim is to understand the challenges faced by CSOs in the past year, enabling responsible and evidence-based advocacy for improving policies and practices related to civil society in each country. The survey covers three areas: Basic Legal Guarantees of Freedom, Framework for CSO Financial Viability and Sustainability, and CSO-Government Relationship. Findings will be used for annual assessments and compiled into national and regional BCSDN Monitoring Matrix on enabling civil society environment nationals and regional reports for 2023. The research is part of the Regional Civil Society Hub project, funded by SIDA, and individual CSOs’ responses are confidential. Surveys are available for Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and North Macedonia. The rest of the WB surveys will be available soon. Read more here.
