The CEE Civil Society Forum organized by BCSDN member Civil Society Development Foundation, FDSC, took place on 25th November in Bucharest. Like-minded CSOs from Central and Eastern Europe gathered in Romania, to discuss the role of civil society in the new European political landscape challenged by the rise of populism, democratic backslide, the erosion of the liberal democracy, and the refugee crisis. The aim was to discuss the most serious challenges and future trends and to explore how civil society can take greater responsibility and play a more significant role in the current context. A working document which contained four proposed lines of actions was presented and joint action is to follow. More information is available here.
