Under the coordination of International Civil Society Centre, the Steering Group consisting of colleagues from CIVICUS, ICNL, ActionAid, Amnesty International, Oxfam, Rendir Cuentas, VANI, The Africa Platform, The Oak Foundation, the Wallace Global Fund, the Heinrich Böll Foundation and the Open Society Foundations have been leading the development of the Civic Charter – The Global Framework for People’s Participation. Following a wide consultation on the first draft and the integration of this feedback into a second draft the Steering Group and a group of stakeholders – CSO professionals and activists from all over the world – came together in Tanzania during June, 2016 to arrive at a final version of the Civic Charter. All interested are invited to take a few minutes and provide final comments on the Civic Charter but no later than July 31st, 2016, which will be considered and might become part of this global initiative in countering shrinking civic space. Feel free to inform others that might be interested to participate in the survey. The Third Draft of the Civic Charter and the feedback form are available here.
