The European Citizenship Awards 2016 are a joint initiative between Volonteurope and European Civic Forum, two European networks promoting active citizenship and social justice. The Awards will celebrate initiatives and actors who put European citizenship into practice and have a real, positive impact on their communities – be it at the local, regional, national or European level. Nominations are welcome from Council of Europe member states, in the following four categories: Campaign of the Year, Social Enterprise of the Year, Volunteer of the Year and Media Initiative of the Year. The Awards ceremony will be held at London City Hall on 12 September 2016. Winners will also be invited to present their achievements during the World Forum for Democracy in Strasbourg on 7-9 November 2016. More information is available here.
