The European Year of Citizens (EYC) 2013 Alliance is an informal European-level civil society alliance of over 40 European and regional networks to support the preparation and implementation of EYC by the Commission and other institutions. While the EU institutions are aiming to put focus on raising awareness on Union citizens’ rights, the Alliance is focused on promoting the broadening of the scope to promotion of democratic and active citizenship during the EYC 2013 campaign.
