A recent report released by BIRN Serbia and Internews Kosova reveals that Kosovo and Serbian media tend to concentrate primarily on crises and incidents when covering the complex relationship between the two nations. The report, titled “Journalistic Perspectives on Serbia-Kosovo Relations,” argues that this limited scope contributes to growing mistrust and the spread of misinformation, while sidelining the “realities of everyday lives.” Key findings indicate that coverage of economic and cultural relations, as well as collaborative efforts, remains notably sparse, with media narratives largely dominated by high-level political discourse. This oversight leaves the nuances of daily life largely unreported. The conclusions stem from an extensive analysis of 942 articles across seven different media outlets, conducted between September 2022 and February 2023, highlighting significant patterns in cross-border media representation.
