The regional report on judicial response to femicide in the Western Balkans, published by the AIRE Center is a condensed version of national research conducted in the Western Balkans from 2018 to 2021. Initiated by Women’s rights organizations, the research focused on understanding femicide characteristics, patterns, and causes. The main aim of the report is to present the current state of affairs regarding the judicial response to femicide in the Western Balkans. It provides an overview of the national criminal legislation concerning different types of murders. The regional report is focused solely on femicide, while national reports also include legal framework related to violence against women, domestic violence and gender-based violence. Read more here.
