The so-called French proposal for an agreement between North Macedonia and Bulgaria further activated, but also focused on CSOs in the country. The CSOs have repeatedly expressed their unequivocal position that the negotiations must not be secret and that the government must ensure a transparent process in solving this historical issue, leaving enough space for constructive input from the professional public. The document titled “Contribution to the Current Public Consultations on the Proposal Negotiation Framework for North Macedonia” was introduced by the Institute for Democracy “Societas Civilis” – Skopje and the European Policy Institute – Skopje, and supported by dozen active CSOs in the countryand the members of the academic community.
