The Funders Initiative for Civil Society (FICS) has published a Submission it has made, with the Fund for Global Human Rights (FGHR), to the UN Special Rapporteur on freedom of peaceful assembly and of association concerning civil society organizations (CSOs) increasing difficulty accessing funding and other resources, and how this is a critical driver of shrinking civic space. FICS and FGHR’s work together in the Global Initiative on Civic Space and Security is calling on the funding community to adopt a more joined-up and strategic approach to tackling the existential threat to civic space posed by counter-terrorism overreach.
