In its latest policy brief, BiEPAG analyzes the current progress of the Western Balkans’ accession into the European Union. The brief implies that the lack of tangible and recognized progress affected political elites and the public. It suggests that the EU needs a clear path for the WB6 to join the Union, especially when global players are working towards achieving their mission in the region. The analysis recommends the Western Balkans be included in the EU’s processes to appraise current Member States and find ways to make the flow of funding reflect the idea that all six are the future Member States. Revisiting the concept of “linearization” of funds to the WB6 would be an excellent start and devise a clear, tailor-made accession partnership roadmap for each of the Western Balkan countries.
