Identifying the accomplishments and areas of concern, FRA’s Fundamental Rights Report 2021 reflects on significant developments in the field in 2020. The main chapter of the report focuses on the impact of the COVID-19 on fundamental rights, while the other chapters focus on: the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights; equality and non-discrimination; racism, xenophobia, and related intolerance; Roma equality and inclusion; asylum, borders, and migration; information society, privacy, and data protection; rights of the child; access to justice; and the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The report highlights that 2020 was followed by remarkable juxtapositions and a year when the EU introduced and developed multiple policy and legal frameworks, long-term strategies, and action plans relating to a broad spectrum of fundamental rights to shape political agendas in the future.
