On 27 May 2021, BCSDN took part in the first meeting of one of the five working groups as per the thematic clusters of the CSO Convention on the Future of Europe, coordinated by Civil Society Europe. Over 75 European networks and platforms have come together to scrutinize the democratic functioning on the Conference of the Future of Europe and ensure a real involvement of citizens and their representative associations in the process. As part of “The Union’s democratic foundations” cluster, co-chaired by ALDA and ECOLISE, BCSDN will work on developing a framework for consultations with constituencies on the priorities and changes we wish to see in the future European Union. The consultations will feed the cluster’s report which, together with the other four clusters’ reports and a joint preamble, will be presented and sent to decision makers, media and civil society all around Europe. The Civil Society Convention and its broad alliance will work alongside the official process of the Conference and intercept it with its own reflections and contributions.
