A new report by the Ukrainian Women’s Fund and The Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation sheds light on how international aid is (not) reaching Women Civil Society Organisations (WCSOs) in Ukraine, two years after Russia’s full-scale invasion. Based on survey responses and interviews with over 100 WCSOs, the study provides rare insights into funding flows and their impact on the sustainability of women’s rights work in the country. Despite Ukraine being a major recipient of Official Development Assistance (ODA), many WCSOs report limited access to stable, long-term funding. The report raises concerns that current funding practices have not created sustainable conditions for women’s rights organisations, with recent cuts threatening to reverse progress on gender equality and civil society resilience.
