BCSDN and Think for Europe Network (TEN) are organizing the Western Balkans Civil Society Policy Dialogues in Brussels. This high-level event, hosted and moderated by the European Policy Center (EPC), will bring together leading CSOs, policy experts, EU officials, and representatives from Member States to explore the evolving challenges and opportunities in the EU enlargement process. Opened by Ms. Valentina Superti, EC Director for the Western Balkans, the event will emphasize a merit-based, values-driven accession process with meaningful civil society engagement. With the Western Balkans at a crossroads, the debate on EU integration is shifting toward security and geopolitical concerns, but democratic governance, institutional reforms, and fundamental freedoms must remain central. Discussions will focus on defending democracy amid pressures on civil society and media and the EU Growth Plan’s potential to drive reforms. The event, by invitation only, will provide strategic dialogue on civil society’s role in ensuring transparency, accountability, and inclusive policymaking. Find more here.
