The goal is to move beyond aid dependency and enhance the resilience of supported communities. The approach emphasizes being locally led, globally connected, and ensuring that interventions complement local knowledge rather than perpetuating stereotypes or practicing ‘white saviourism.’ The commitment includes telling community stories more respectfully and recognizing that effective change often comes from empowering people in their communities.
