More than 100 CSOs have warned that “closing the eyes” of the European Parliament on the transparency of lobbying could jeopardize the improvement of the Lobbying registry. Insisting that the European Parliament must do more to improve the transparency of lobbying, 101 CSOs have sent an open letter to the EP, warning MEPs that the new European Commission proposal will bring even less control in the registry of lobbying transparency than the current solution in place. Moreover, CSOs have stressed that in order to promote higher transparency in other EU institutions, the European Commission must set their own example. More information is available here.
