”The State of Civil Society in the EU Enlargement: Why Don’t We Always Get What We Want?”, conference that took place on the 26th of April in Split, Croatia was an opportunity for regional CSO representatives to discuss and share experiences from the EU accession and the opportunities and challenges ahead in this process.
The conclusions that came out of it tackled different topics related to the EU but also to civil society and their work and expectations. The main conclusions were related to the citizen dimension- civic participation and engagement is essential for development, it is only through involvement of citizen in CSO, that they will give strong delivery towards the government and local authorities.
