BCSDN wishes you a successful and inspiring start to 2025! As we reflect on 2024, we celebrate key achievements that strengthened our mission to protect civic space and empower civil society. These include the updated Monitoring Matrix Tool-Kit 2.0, the 2023 Regional Report on Civil Society Environment, which shed light on challenges such as rising SLAPPs, foreign-agents narratives and laws, and civic space crackdowns, and the first-ever regional report on SLAPPs in the Western Balkans, highlighting threats to civic space and pathways for resistance. We also contributed to the 2024 European Commission Rule of Law Report for accession countries, conducted our 15th analysis of the EC Enlargement package, and actively engaged in initiatives like the Berlin Process, reinforcing our dedication to regional cooperation. Guided by the BCSDN 2024-2027 Strategy, we take immense pride in our members, whose tireless efforts, local expertise, and resilience are the backbone of our collective regional impact. As we move into 2025, we remain committed to building civil society resilience, driving impactful advocacy, and strengthening partnerships to tackle ongoing and emerging challenges.
