The Western Balkans Circular Economy Hub has officially been launched, forming part of broader EU-supported efforts to promote sustainability and regional cooperation. Coordinated by the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), the Hub has been envisaged as a platform for knowledge exchange, policy alignment, and intersectoral collaboration among civil society, public institutions, and the private sector. Its creation reflects an increasing focus on aligning the Western Balkans with the EU Green Agenda, with particular emphasis on addressing environmental degradation and improving resource efficiency. It has also been envisaged that the Hub will support the mapping of circular economy initiatives, strengthen access to financing, and facilitate coordinated responses to shared environmental challenges. For donors and international partners, it offers an opportunity to engage through more structured, long-term support aligned with regional sustainability priorities. Read more here.
