The Third Sector Foundation of Türkiye (TÜSEV) has released a new Guide to Hope-Based Communication that offers practical tools and insights for Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) aiming to strengthen their reputation and improve their communication strategies. This guide is the result of a Western Balkans and Türkiye Regional Hope-Based Communication Bootcamp organized by TÜSEV and supported by TACSO. The Bootcamp took place in Istanbul, where BCSDN participated actively, represented by the Communication Officer, Toshe Zafirov.
The guide is built on the principle of hope-based communication, an approach that encourages CSOs to move beyond focusing solely on problems and instead highlight what is possible and what they stand for. By aligning an organization’s values, voice, and actions, the guide suggests that CSOs can build a more resilient and impactful reputation.
Key Focus Areas of the Guide:
Reputation Management: The guide presents reputation as a growing flower, with strong roots in an organization’s brand, visibility, and distinctiveness. It provides a conceptual and practical framework for CSOs to reframe how they are perceived by the public.
Communication Strategies: The guide offers actionable advice for CSOs on how to choose impactful communication channels, develop creative campaigns, and reframe their messaging. It aims to empower organizations to communicate with confidence and empathy.
Visibility of Impact: A core theme is helping CSOs make their social impact more visible. The guide provides strategies for bridging conventional and innovative communication tools to effectively showcase an organization’s contributions.
The guide serves as both a resource and an invitation for CSOs to tell new stories, build stronger connections with their audience, and contribute to a more inclusive public narrative.
