The article explores the shifts with which the funders are facing during COVID-19. It suggests that many funders proactively re-engaged with their grantees to express support and offer flexibility on reporting requirements and funding restrictions. Moreover, many of them increased their giving to meet the increased need in the society and moved fast to reassure their charity partners. Considering that Covid-19 has exposed significant inequalities in society, the funders are working out how to respond and embed a focus on equity and fairness into their funding. It also suggests that funders can increase their impact by working with other funders and across different sectors, such as with the government.
