Over 700 participants from 80+ countries joined the #ShiftThePower Global Summit, in Bogota, Colombia, organized by the Global Fund for Community Foundation, advocating for a paradigm shift in aid localization and empowering communities. The event highlighted a growing embrace of community philanthropy, proximate funds, citizen accountability, and participatory decision-making, fostering networks in the Global South. #ShiftThePower connected these initiatives, forming a decentralized, shared-power system. This movement envisions a good society and seeks genuine, lasting change through bottom-up, people-centered practices globally. The event facilitated networking and knowledge-sharing. Ms. Marija Vishinova Shemova, BCSDN Network and Partnership Coordinator, represented BCSDN, showcasing its efforts in constituent-led development gained from active engagement in global networks like the Global Standard for CSO Accountability and CSO Partnership for Development Effectiveness (CPDE).
