In a letter, Serbian CSOs, among which BCSDN member Civic Initiatives, once again emphasized their decision not to participate in the consultation process with the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue for drafting the National Strategy for an Enabling Environment for Civil Society Development. As reasons behind they indicate: the attacks on civil society members and independent media in the National Assembly of the country; the stalemate of “the List”, in which case no steps have been made to determine the responsibility of the Administration for the Prevention of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing which sent a request to Serbian banks to submit data on the accounts and financial transactions CSOs and media without a clear legal basis; the lack of CSO- government dialogue, etc. Following this, Serbian CSOs recalled that in a modern democracy and open society, the key social and political actors must recognize civil society as an essential partner in the environment.
