Join BCSDN on 27 October 2026, at 11h CET, for the online launch of the 12th Monitoring Matrix Regional Report, presenting key findings on the enabling environment for civil society across the Western Balkans and Türkiye. The report examines developments in 2025, highlighting growing pressures on fundamental freedoms, financial sustainability and civil society participation, alongside positive changes in several countries. Bringing together national Monitoring Matrix researchers and civil society representatives, the event will explore shared regional challenges, country-specific developments and their implications for civic space. Discussions will also address the role of EU democracy and enlargement policies in strengthening civil society protection, participation and sustainability, and how monitoring evidence can support advocacy and timely responses to emerging risks.
