The Executive Board of the Conference on the Future of Europe declined the European Parliament’s proposal, a representative of the Civil Society Convention on the Future of Europe, to be included as an observer in the process. The adoption of the Civil Society Convention proposal is a positive political message to citizens in Europe and their engagement with CSOs. Civil Society Convention gathers wide-ranging constituencies to be a part of a public debate and a shared agenda, addressing social, environmental, and democratic challenges, contributing to the Conference Plenary, and scrutinizing the implementation processes. Self-organized before the institutional process was launched, CSOs are committed to strengthening the legacy of their mobilization beyond the close of the institutional process. The European Civic Forum invites all interested CSOs to participate in the first Civil Society Convention public debate on the Future of Europe on 11 May 2021. Read more here.
