BCSDN has established the Regional Civil Society Development Hub, which provides support and funding initiatives for CSOs in the Western Balkans. The Hub is financially assisted by SIDA and aims to advance the transparency and accountability of CSOs to establish a better environment for civil society. Regional grants through the Hub help to administer accountability mechanisms, such as trust-building, innovative outreach activities, CSO rebranding, and encouraging participation of stakeholders. The Hub also offers funding through the ad-hoc support grants program. Ad-hoc support is an instrument that provides rapid funding for a CSO’s immediate need to promote civic space when there is insufficient time to operate through the standard grant award procedure. In this respect, the Hub uses a regional focus to encourage shared experience and expertise across countries, intending to strengthen the civic space within the Western Balkans. Read more here.
