The Power- Awareness tool was designed to uncover the power imbalances, enabling partners to analyze and reflect on power relations. It suggests that if partners recognize how power operates in the partnership, they will shift power according to their shared principles. The paper consists of two parts. First is why power imbalances matter and how power operates in relationships between INGOs and local NGOs, while the second is the tool itself and the guidelines for its practical application.
