A new national report published by BCSDN member Partners Albania provides the first in-depth look at community foundations in Albania, highlighting both challenges and growth opportunities. While the country has over 13,000 NPOs, community foundations remain limited, with “Korçarët Ndihmojmë Korçarët” (KNK) the only formally registered foundation as of 2025. The report, using the 4Cs framework of Capacity, Capability, Credibility, and Connections, identifies key systemic constraints alongside opportunities for growth. KNK has strengthened capability through training from Partners Albania in governance, fundraising, and community mobilization, while credibility rests on transparent governance and public reporting. Connections with communities, municipalities, businesses, and international networks are vital, with KNK and the Community Foundations Support Office linking foundations to donors, institutions, and global peers.
