BCSDN gladly presents the Monitoring Matrix Regional Report for Civil Society Development in the Western Balkans for 2020. The report analyzes several key aspects impacting civil society in the region amid Covid-19, such as: How has the state of emergency affected basic freedoms?; Was the remarkable role CSOs played in mitigating the adverse effects of the pandemic recognized and supported?; How much funding or other assistance did CSOs receive in 2020? Was civil society consulted on laws, regulations, and measures enacted, etc. These and many other questions were discussed during the promotional event of the report, held on 12 July 2021. On this occasion, in front of more than 40 CSOs, donors, and EU representatives throughout the region and across Europe, BCSDN presented the report’s findings and key recommendations concerning the civil society enabling environment during last year.
