The Leadership Development Academy (LAD) program on “Public Policy for Private Sector Development” organized by Stanford University’s Center on Democracy, Development and the Rule of Law (CDDRL) and Faculty of Political Science at the University of Sarajevo, is an executive-level training program that trains academia, civil society, and government officials, from developing countries to be a constructive force for economic growth and development. The intensive 5-day programme, held for the first time in the Balkans, took part from 2nd-8th July in Sarajevo and was led by renowned professor Francis Fukuyama, Director of CDDRL, and Michael Bennon, Managing Director of the Stanford Global Projects Center. It was largely case-based curriculum featuring key lectures aimed to provide the 30 participants, including BCSDN’s Policy and Advocacy Officer Biljana Spasovska, with analytical framework necessary to promote private sector growth through public policies.
