The 2024 KoneKtor – Philanthropy East Forum, formerly the Grantmakers East Forum, will take place in Prague from September 23-25. Titled “Dialogue, Democracy, and Diversity,” this year’s event, hosted by Porticus, aims to tackle pressing issues of polarization, fractured communities, and distrust. As democracy and civil society face ongoing threats, the forum will explore the philanthropic sector’s role in fostering social cohesion and bridging divides. Building on last year’s discussions on peace, justice, and democratic values, this year’s forum will provide a platform to examine democracy from various perspectives, analyze polarization, and discuss how foundations can support dialogue, resilience, and citizen empowerment in a fragmented world. The registration is open until until 10 September. Read more here.
