On 7 June 2021, the Civil Society Convention on the Future of Europe organized an event for the start of the Conference. The discussion brought representatives of the European Commission and the Parliament members who, together with the Convention participants, among which BCSDN EO representatives, reflected on the scope of civil society participation in the Conference. Vice-President of the EC for Democracy and Demography, Dubravka Suica, pointed the vital civil society role in ensuring that every voice is heard, which was also asserted by the MPs. The representative of the Portuguese EU Presidency announced that to the Civil Society Convention would be allocated 5 seats in the CoFoE Plenary to provide input and recommendations to the Conference Executive board on the final outcomes. During the event, the CoFoE online platform was also presented as the hub for the citizens and organizations to share ideas, organize events, etc. Read more here.
