The CSOs’ participants and activists of the EU Civil Society Forum for Western Balkans and Türkiye, including BCSDN representatives, delivered a joint declaration based on discussions about the new Growth Plan for the Western Balkans. The declaration emphasizes the new Growth Plan for the Western Balkans as a significant opportunity for EU-compliant reforms and increased EU support, with a financial support of 6 billion EUR. The plan mandates civil society involvement in developing Reform Agendas, which are crucial for monitoring and evaluating progress. In the letter, CSOs stress the need for a transparent and inclusive process, as per the regulation, ensuring consultations with relevant stakeholders, including parliaments, local authorities, social partners, and CSOs. They call for accountability and proper implementation from the outset to avoid complications in the future. Read the declaration here.
