Since the start of the pandemic, fundraisers worldwide have had to rethink their strategies, budgets, and models. The organizations, on the other hand, adjusted to the crisis in different ways. Some have used cash reserves; a part dismissed team members; others changed budgets into online channels. Besides the fact that the covid-19 crisis is a leadership challenge, it is also an opportunity for transformative changes to organizations’ funding models. In 2021 the focus should be on building agile organizational culture and processes rather than focusing on three-month plans. Considering that the sector has experienced the risks of dependence on only one or two income streams, many organizations are making permanent shifts, ensuring the future fundraising portfolio is diversified to sustain upcoming crises. Alongside the change to new channels and audiences, many charities and NGOs are pursuing new products and models of fundraising to move away from the traditional proposition and embed innovation going forward.
