The Investigative Journalism for Europe (IJ4EU) fund presents its fifth edition, offering 2 million EUR in grants for cross-border investigations across Europe. Open to journalists across greater number of countries than before, the program includes grants of up to 50,000 EUR, along with training, mentoring, legal help, and new collaboration tools. IJ4EU, led by the International Press Institute (IPI) in collaboration with European Journalism Centre (EJC), European Centre for Press and Media Freedom (ECPMF), and Arena for Journalism in Europe (Arena), aims to stimulate collaborative investigative journalism, providing support for newsrooms, freelancers, and independent projects. The program also emphasizes resilience training and support for journalists facing legal challenges and hostile environments. The first call for applications opens on February 1, 2024.
