The EU’s Financial Support to Third Parties (FSTP) initiative is transforming civil society by empowering grassroots organizations. FSTP simplifies access to EU funding, aiming to boost the ability of smaller, local CSOs to engage with their communities. The initiative recognizes and nurtures the potential of local actors through smaller grants and easier application processes, benefiting a wide range of organizations regardless of size. The FSTP Community of Practice (CoP), established by the EU TACSO 3, fosters collaboration and support among over 200 members, sharing experiences and ensuring effective grant management. Training programs under FSTP, like the one conducted by BCSDN member, Partners Albania for Change and Development, have led to improved grant management practices and increased project outcomes. Through accessible funding and capacity-building, FSTP creates a more inclusive and participatory civil society, supporting democratic governance and community development across diverse contexts.
