The European Commission has launched a stakeholder consultation to gather evidence for its 2027 Rule of Law Report, covering EU Member States and four enlargement countries. CSOs, European networks, professional associations and other stakeholders are invited to submit contributions on developments concerning justice systems, anti-corruption frameworks, media freedom and pluralism, and institutional checks and balances. The consultation also covers cross-border rule of law issues related to the Single Market. For civil society, it provides an opportunity to bring independent evidence on civic space, institutional accountability and democratic governance into the Commission’s annual assessment, complementing information gathered from national authorities and country visits. Contributions must be submitted separately for each country by 4 December 2026, midnight Brussels time. The questionnaire is available in English, while responses may generally be submitted in any EU language. Find more here.
